Tyre labeling

New European tyre labeling
WHAT WE HAVE TO KNOW ABOUT THE NEW REGULATION (EO) No 1222/2009 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT

From 1st November 2012 all tyres for cars and light trucks, sold in Europe, must have new special labels.

The new EU tyre label provides information regarding the safety and the ecologic aspects of a tyre. Likely the energy efficiency label of the electric appliances, EU tyre label makes the comparison of the tyres easier as regard to wet grip, fuel efficiency and noise level.

Fuel efficiency/Rolling resistance

Fuel efficiency/Rolling resistance

20% of the fuel consumption of your car dues to the tyre. Choosing a tyre of a higher class of fuel efficiency will provide you more mileage per tank and less CO2 emissions.
Wet grip

Wet grip

Wet grip is very important characteristic in terms of safety and depends on the ability of the tyre to stop the vehicle quickly on wet surface. The difference between the braking distance between A and G could be up to 30%*.
Tyre external rolling noise

Tyre external rolling noise

External noise of a tyre is measured in decibels.
Since many people are not familiar with the values in decibels, noise class is also indicated. It categorizes the tyre to the European limits which will be introduced.
